Let There be A/C!
So my wife Sarah and I moved into our first home here in Fairmont, WV back in March of 2016. We figured that since no previous owners had installed central A/C, the house must stay relatively comfortable in the dog days of summer.
On that fateful late-Spring day, back when we were so naive, Sarah messaged me and said that (on her relaxing day off) the house was becoming 'unbearable' with humidity and heat. As I was sitting at my desk at work in that comfy 71 degree work space... in that brand new building..., I thought to myself, "oh, it can't be that bad.."
When I walked through the door... I think every pore in my body decided to perspire. *(think Beelzebub's butthole)
I promptly grumbled something like "F&#@ this!" and immediately jumped on Amazon and put my Prime prowess to work. I ordered a portable room A/C (SPT WA-1420E) and had it shipped overnight, like a wizard...an express shipping sorcerer if you will.
After chilling out with our new R2D2 look-alike (which works remarkably well and cools two large rooms and entryway), I decided to replace the relic of a window unit in the bedroom as well. Thankfully, I didn't have to summon the quick shipping gods this time and simply purchased the LG LW8015ER unit. It's cool. No, really. It is.
Since those way back days of hotness, we were able to have a new York furnace and A/C installed! Cool air everywhere!

The ratings seem pretty accurate, though I've had good luck with both.
